Hey legs and lace! I see you.
Okay, so I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic. Growing up I was obsessed with secret gardens, love stories, soap operas, (The Young and the Restless named my two younger brothers and almost myself!) and long novels about unattainable, restless love. In my mind, the women in these tales wore lace, picked flowers and hummed tunes that lacked words but somehow let the world know they were in love. While I've always loved these things, I've never been fond of my legs or lace. But there's something happening with me and here I am showing you both.
Carefree, fun, romantic and sexy, this dress I found at Ross Dress for Less plays so many roles in my wardrobe. First, I love the fit. It hugs the shoulders and graces over my curves the rest of the way. Can we say no shape wear needed!
The bell sleeves are a feminine flair I don't mind wearing daily. Blame it on my old soul, but this nod to the seventies is the perfect addition to make this dress go from casual to date worthy.
My love for accessories far supersedes any other pieces in my wardrobe. For this look, I paired a vintage, faux croc cross body with an INC cuff from Macy's and a statement necklace from Burlington Coat Factory. Since I had to have my ligaments repaired in my knee after a terrible fall, I'm stuck with flats for a while, but these jeweled flats from Avenue are chic and comfortable!
Lately, I've been incredibly committed to stepping out of my comfort zone with my style. This week, I tackled Legs and Lace. Moving forward it is my goal to shed the inhibition and keep wearing what makes me feel good!
