So, it's Sunday. Yes, I know, you're like 80% of the working population... You're dreading Monday. Well, it's doesn't have to be as bad as you're anticipating. In fact, planning your work week wardrobe almost always makes Monday easier. You've got more time to lay in bed and dread the day. NOT! Here's a few tools you can employ to get up, get out and get started!
Who doesn't love a trip to Target or Marshall's?! Go to your favorite to purchase a clothing rack small enough to fit in a nook in your bedroom or dressing room. This isn't your main source of clothing storage! This rack should only cost you between $10-$50, and should solely be used for your Work Week Wardrobe! My suggestion is that, if it comes with wheels, don't use them as it can make less expensive racks unsturdy.
The best hangers to use with your garment rack are velvet fashion hangers. Reasonably priced and chic aesthetically, these hangers also take up a small amount of space. While you're picking these up, find small, inspiring pictures to create a vignette in the space where your rack will go. This will add to the experience getting dressed every morning.
Choosing you wardrobe weekly shouldn't be a task. Choose easy, no fuss options that will collaborate with your mood and body throughout the week. Work provides enough stress; we don't need our clothing doing the same. Select classic pieces that you can interchange like:
• Knit Wrap Dress in a great print or color.
• Pencil skirt in knit or Pointe fabric that will still forgive after lunch.
• Classic Button Down Blouse
• Well fitting slacks/pants in navy, black, khaki.
• Camis and Crew necks shirts to pair with cardigans and Blazers.
These classic pieces are all interchangeable and create a core wardrobe that's easy to plan around. Keep reading on how to take that up a notch!
Jewelry. Jewelry. Oh and if you can add one more thing, it should be jewelry. Statement necklaces, eclectic earrings, and bracelets all create the wow factor when creating a work week wardrobe. They allow your personality to shine through, even with the most traditional pieces. Make investments in pieces that will grow with you in your career and your wardrobe. As trends change, often jewelry doesn't. Keep in mind your office culture when deciding which pieces to wear.
